Designed from the ground up for fanless implementation, VIA Eden X2 processors leverage the latest 40nm manufacturing process, combining two 64-bit, superscalar VIA Eden cores on one die, offering enhanced multi-tasking and superb multimedia performance on a rigidly low power budget. VIA Eden X2 ProcessorsWith rock solid stability guaranteed over extended periods, VIA Eden X2 processors are ideal for fanless always-on, mission-critical commercial and industrial applications. Fanless systems typically contain no moving components, dramatically improving system stability and providing the ideal platform for ruggedized industrial device development. VIA Eden X2 features VIA VT virtualization technology, allowing embedded developers to deploy legacy software and applications in virtual scenarios without impacting on performance. The unique VIA AES Security Engine offers lightening fast hardware-based data encryption coupled with a range of security features including a random number generator and Montgomery Multiplier. VIA Eden X2 processors are natively 64-bit compatible, facilitating an essential transition for the future of the embedded industry. 64- bit operating systems such as Windows® Embedded Standard 7 facilitate up to double data throughput per clock cycle, making it easier to manipulate large data sets with improved performance overall. VIA Eden X2 processors are also fully compatible with Windows CE and Linux operating systems. All VIA Eden X2 processors and are fully pin-to-pin compatible with VIA Eden, VIA C7, and VIA Nano E-Series processors, and use a VIA NanoBGA2 package of 21mm x 21mm with a die size of 11mm x 6mm.
